Intentional Living Challenge

Don’t Just Be Inspired. Live It.
Good intentions matter.
But intention becomes powerful when it becomes action.
Welcome to the Intentional Living Challenge by Chi Zara—a daily invitation to take one meaningful, practical step towards living your faith, values, priorities, and purpose more intentionally.
As one of the seven daily features of The Intentional Living Series, the Intentional Living Challenge transforms inspiration into application.
Each day brings a fresh challenge designed to encourage you to do something purposeful—not someday, but today.
One decision.
One conversation.
One act of kindness.
One boundary.
One prayer.
One habit.
One courageous step.
Small intentional actions, consistently practised, can transform the way we live.
Today’s Intentional Living Challenge
One Challenge. One Day. One Intentional Step.
What could change if you stopped waiting for the perfect moment and simply took the next meaningful step?
Today’s challenge gives you one practical action to complete.
It may take five minutes.
It may require courage.
It may involve another person.
It may ask you to stop doing something.
It may invite you to begin something.
It may challenge the way you think.
Whatever today’s challenge requires, approach it prayerfully and intentionally.
Read it.
Consider why it matters.
Then act.
What Is the Intentional Living Challenge?
The Intentional Living Challenge is a daily Christ-centred action feature designed to help you practise intentional living in real life.
- The date
- The challenge
- Whether you completed it
- What you learned
- What felt difficult
- What surprised you
- What changed
- What you want to continue
- A related Scripture
- A short prayer
- Your next intentional step
Every challenge focuses on one purposeful action connected to an important area of faith or everyday living.
Rather than simply asking:
“What did I learn today?”
the Intentional Living Challenge goes one step further:
“What will I do about it?”
Because knowing something is valuable.
Applying it is transformational.
Why Intentional Action Matters
We can spend years knowing what we should do without actually doing it.
We know we should pray.
We know we should rest.
We know we should forgive.
We know we should manage our time wisely.
We know we should communicate better.
We know we should establish boundaries.
We know we should take care of what God has entrusted to us.
We know we should begin.
But the distance between knowing and becoming is often crossed through action.
Intentional living helps close that gap.
It encourages us to align our daily behaviour with the faith, principles, priorities, and values we say matter most.
Small Actions Can Create Significant Change
Not every challenge needs to be dramatic.
Transformation is often built through ordinary decisions repeated consistently.
Drinking more water.
Putting your phone away during an important conversation.
Calling someone you have been meaning to contact.
Reading Scripture before checking social media.
Completing the task you have been postponing.
Saying no to something that continually drains you.
Expressing gratitude.
Apologising.
Taking a walk.
Writing down your priorities.
Resting without guilt.
Praying before making a decision.
Small actions may appear insignificant individually.
Repeated over time, they can change habits, relationships, priorities, and direction.
What Will We Challenge?
Intentional living touches every area of life.

1. Read
Begin with today’s challenge and understand what you are being invited to do.
2. Reflect
Consider why this particular action may matter in your life.
3. Pray
Invite God into the process.
Ask for wisdom, discipline, courage, patience, or whatever the challenge requires.
4. Act
Complete the challenge.
Don’t leave it as something you merely intended to do.
5. Reflect Again
At the end of the day, consider what happened.
What did you notice?
What did you learn?
What changed?
6. Carry It Forward
Some challenges are designed for one day.
Others may reveal a practice worth continuing.
When something improves your life, don’t abandon it simply because the challenge has ended.
Today’s Challenge Is Not About Perfection
You may not complete every challenge perfectly.
That is not the objective.
Intentional living is a practice.
Some challenges will feel easy.
Others may expose an area where you need more growth.
You may begin a challenge and realise you need to approach it differently.
You may miss a day.
You may need to try again.
Continue.
Progress requires participation, not perfection.
Challenge Yourself Honestly
The most valuable challenges are not always the most comfortable ones.
Sometimes the challenge you most want to avoid may reveal an area requiring attention.
Ask yourself:
Why does this challenge feel difficult?
What is it revealing about me?
Am I resisting something I know would be beneficial?
Is fear influencing my response?
Do I need support?
What would obedience, wisdom, or courage look like here?
Honest reflection can turn a simple challenge into meaningful personal growth.
Make It Personal
The daily challenge provides a starting point.
You can adapt the action appropriately to your circumstances while preserving its purpose.
For example:
If the challenge is to encourage someone, choose the person who genuinely needs encouragement.
If the challenge is to reduce distractions, identify the distraction affecting you most.
If the challenge is about gratitude, focus on something you have been taking for granted.
If the challenge is about rest, consider what meaningful rest looks like in your current season.
Intentional living is personal because your responsibilities, circumstances, relationships, and areas of growth are unique.
Track Your Challenges
See How Consistency Changes You
Consider keeping an Intentional Living Challenge Journal or tracker.
For each challenge, record:
Over time, you will have more than a record of completed challenges.
You will have evidence of decisions, lessons, habits, growth, and intentional change.
Missed a Challenge?
There is no need to feel as though you have failed the journey.
You can begin again today.
Explore previous challenges when you want additional inspiration or need a practical action in a particular area of life.
Challenges can be revisited.
A challenge you completed months ago may become relevant again in a new season.
Challenge Yourself Further
Completed today’s challenge?
Ask:
Can I continue this tomorrow?
Some daily actions are worth turning into habits.
A single gratitude challenge can become a gratitude practice.
A day of intentional prayer can become a prayer routine.
One meaningful conversation can begin healthier communication.
One organised space can inspire better stewardship.
One boundary can protect an important priority.
One act of generosity can cultivate a more generous life.
Let the challenge begin something—not simply complete something.
Challenge Together
Intentional living does not always have to happen alone.
Invite someone to participate with you.
Challenge:
Complete the challenge individually, then share what you learned.
Accountability and community can make meaningful change easier to sustain.
From Challenge to Habit
A daily challenge creates an opportunity.
Consistency creates a lifestyle.
When a challenge reveals something worth continuing, turn it into a practice.
Repeat It
Continue the action beyond today.
Schedule It
Decide when you will do it again.
Track It
Use a Chi Zara Tool to monitor your consistency.
Review It
Notice whether the action is producing meaningful change.
Adjust It
Modify the practice when necessary.
Keep Going
Allow small intentional behaviours to become part of the way you live.

Your Challenge Starts Now
You do not need to change your entire life today.
You do not need the perfect plan.
You do not need to wait until Monday.
Or next month.
Or next year.
You need a starting point.
One deliberate choice can interrupt an unhealthy pattern.
One conversation can strengthen a relationship.
One prayer can change your perspective.
One boundary can protect what matters.
One act of courage can open a new direction.
One repeated action can become a habit.
And one intentional day can become the beginning of a more intentional life.
So don’t simply read today’s challenge.
Do it.
Think intentionally. Choose intentionally. Act intentionally. Live intentionally.
